Homemade Masala Chai

Chai or commonly known as Teh Tarik in Malaysia is a must on the go drink. Whether its for breakfast or supper, Malaysians are always up for Chai. Being an Indian, our love towards Chai are different level so I gave a try to make my very own masala for Chai and it turned out pretty good, rich in taste and flavor. All you need is five different types of spices which is :

                                                                             Spices

Ingredients

1) 1 cup of dried ginger

     1 tsp of cardamom

     1 tsp of black pepper

     2 pieces of cinnamon sticks

     1 tsp of cloves

2) 3 cups of milk

3) 2 cups of water

4) 2 spoon of sugar

5) 2 spoon of tea dust

Steps

1) You need to mash all these spices until it turns into powder form. You can either use grinder or use the traditional way (lesung).

I personally used "lesung" to make my masala chai powder.

2) Take a round pan, pour water and add the tea dust once the water is boiled.

3) Let the tea dust infuse with the water and add sugar.

4) Add 2 spoon of masala chai we prepared earlier and let it boil for 3 minutes.

5) Then add milk and you are ready with masala chai!
