'Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap'- Robert Fulghum

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE ! Who doesn't love'em ? They come in various shape, size and texture. Some chewy, some crunchy, some with nuts and raisin and some with lots and lots of chocolate chip. I'll be honest, I do love chocolate chip cookie especially the smell of it from the oven. By then I can already feel the sweet treat melting in my mouth. I wish I could get them everyday but unfortunately for me, it happens on festive seasons.

Since its only five days till Christmas, my mum and I decided to bake some cookies and of course, I requested for chocolate chip cookies. I call the recipe we made 'Black Beauty' and you'll see why.

I usually buy baking ingredients from LS Bakery Shop. Their price is reasonable, they have all sorts of ready made flour (hassle free) and it comes with the recipe. So for this chocolate chips cookies, I just need to add 1 egg, 200g butter and sprinkle in all the nuts and chocolate chip I want. Pretty easy isn't it.

Chocolate Chip Cookie mixture from LS Bakery Shop

Once I've added all the ingredient, I first mix them with a whisk and then use clean hands to fold in the dough. As you began to mix, you will soon form a slightly sticky dough but don't worry, that's fine.

Then, I measure my cookie to the size I want. You can make a giant cookie or a small one, it's up to you. I roll them into small balls, arrange them on the baking tray and used a fork to flatten the cookies. Not too flat, just a little press will do.

I add some chopped almonds and chocolate chip on top of the cookie. These two ingredients are already in the cookie dough but no harm adding extra. Once done, bake them in the oven at 160℃-180℃ for about 15-20 minutes. Constantly keep and eye on your cookie.

Ok back to the name 'Black Beauty'. What's with the name? Well, basically the cookie is literally black in colour hence the name. You need to keep an eye because if it was a regular cookie, you can see it turning golden brown but for this cookie you can see anything.

In my first attempt, I accidentally burnt a few cookies. You can smell the burnt smell. Thank God my mum helped me with the rest.

There are so many different chocolate chip cookie recipes. But this, so far, is my favourite and it is way better than Famous Amos. Cookies makes me feel happy. When I'm sad, I would have a cookie to cheer me up.

I hope those reading this are fans of chocolate chip cookie too. Feel free to share your ideal recipe in the comment below. And remember, one of the best things in life is always a warm chocolate chip cookie.
