Defamation which is also known as criticism is the oral or written communication of a false statement about another that does not give justice and harms their reputation and usually constitutes a tort of crime. In common law, to establish constitute defamation, a case must be false and must have been made to someone than the person defamed. Some common law jurisdictions also recognize spoken criticism, called defamation, and slander in other media, for example, printed words or pictures, called libel. Usually, the law accepts a person as good they are, unless there is a situation to prove. According to the Defamation Law in Malaysia, “If a statement about a person is defamatory and affects the reputation of that person in the eyes of the public, that person may have a claim for defamation against the maker of that defamatory statement.” Also “The governing legislation for defamation in Malaysia is the Defamation Act 1957 (Defamation Act). The defamation act only applies to civil claims. The Malaysian law on criminal defamation is governed by the Penal Code (particularly, section 499).”

At common law, there are two types of defamation which is libel and slander. Libel is a defamation in a permanent form such as written words in article, newspapers, Facebook post or Whatsapp messages. For example, you are living in a neighbourhood and the management says that you are trouble maker in the Whatsapp group that consists of other residents and also your neighbour. Eventually, that defamation spoils your reputation even though you are not a trouble maker. Next is slander which is a defamation in temporary form such as spoken words. For example, in an annual dinner by your company, one of your working colleagues loudly exclaims that you are an incompetent worker and you get a higher position because you had a personal favour from the higher management. That statement might be not true and spoils someone’s reputation. In that case, according to Defamation Law in Malaysia, the Defamation Act provides that certain slander are actionable without proof such as slander of woman where words that attribute adultery to any woman or girl, slander affecting business, slander affecting titles or goods and slander that imputes a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment or corporal punishment.

However, there are some things you need to prove if you are a victim of defamation. If you believe that you are defamed by anyone, you have to take note of these four points which is published, false, injurious and unprivileged. To start with, the "statement" can be spoken, composed, envisioned, or even gestured. Since written statements last longer than spoken statements, most courts, juries, and insurance agencies consider criticism more unsafe than defame. "Published" or "Distributed" implies that an outsider heard or saw the announcement, that is, somebody other than the individual who offered the expression or the individual the statement was about. Published" doesn't really imply that the statement was printed in a book, it simply needs to have been disclosed through online media, TV, radio, speeches, gossips, or even loud conversation. Obviously, it could also have been written in magazines, books, papers, flyers, or on picket signs.

Next, a defamatory statement must be false otherwise it's not viewed as harming. Indeed, even awfully mean or decrying things are not abusive if the shoe fits. Most of the opinions don't consider criticism since they can't be end up being false. For example, when a commentator says, "That was the most noticeably awful book I've read throughout the year," she's not slandering the writer, on the grounds that the statement can't be demonstrated to be false. The statement must be "harmful or injurious" Since the whole point of criticism law is to deal with wounds to reputation, those suing for slander must show how their reputation were harmed by the false explanation and statement. For example, because of the defamation, the individual lost work, was avoided by neighbors, companions, or relatives or even was bugged by the press. Last to justify or to prove a defamatory statement, the offending statement must be "unprivileged." Under certain conditions, you can't sue somebody for criticism regardless of whether they say something that can be proved false.

The public has a privilege to criticize the individuals who oversee them, so minimal protection from defamation is given to public officials. At the point when officials are blamed for something that involves their behaviour in office, they need to prove all of the elements above and they must also prove that the defendant acted with "actual malice". People who aren't chosen however who are still public figures because they are influential or famous such as celebrities also have to prove that the defamatory statements were made with actual malice. According to Defamation Law, "Actual Malice" means that the person who made the statement knew it wasn't true, or didn't care whether it was true or not and was reckless with the truth. For example, when someone has doubts about the truth of a statement but does not bother to check further before publishing it.

Chuanplus is a nitrile rubber producer in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

Both companies have made an agreement to shape a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to build another rubber production plant and enter the rewarding upstream creation of nitrile gloves, said Jiankun, adding that it will claim 80% of the SPV and Chuanplus 20%.

Jiankun will be responsible for raising assets, while Chuanplus has the innovation expertise to create nitrile elastic.

With this new pursuit, Jiankun's newly appointed administrator Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali and chief chiefs Datuk Tan Choon Hwa and Edwin Silvester Das are hopeful of turning the organization around and improving its business possibilities sooner rather than later.

10th February is my little brother birthday. Every year on his day, we will make it something special to this year we went an extra mile where I came with a present as Jerry mascot since he is the Jerry in our house.

Nobody including my brothers friends knows that I was the Jerry, haha, literally it was the first time I tried a mascot and I really enjoyed it.

All you have to do is to mend well into the character and entertain all your guests. Other than that, since my brother loves Tik Tok, we also ordered a caked based on that theme. My mother made delicious chicken briyani and overall everyone enjoyed the day!

Kuala Lumpur – 6th November 2020, our Minister of Finance, Tengku Dato’Sri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz presented the table of Budget 2021 in Dewan Rakyat.

This Budget 2021 was all about reforming and balancing Malaysian’s live and livelihood and it is based on 6R approach which is Resolve, Resilience, Restart, Recovery, Revitalize and Reform.

According to our Finance Minister, he had meetings regarding Budget 2021 with all the organizations such as leaders of all federal ministries and state governments, academicians, non-governmental organizations, political party leaders and the full spectrum from youth, women, parents and senior citizens.

Other than that, Budget 2021 is formulated based on Three Integral Goals which is First (Rakyat’s Well Being), Second (Business Continuity) and Third(Economic Resilience).

One important allocation which has been made in Budget 2021 is Community-based Initiative where the government focus on community developed programs.

A total of 177 million  ringgit is provided to the Chinese community for programs to improve educational facilities, housing, and the development of kampung baru, and also financing facilities through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).

A total of 100 million ringgit is given to the Indian community for socio-economy status which is Malaysia Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA).

TEKUN will additionally provide 20 million ringgit specifically for the Skim Pembangunan Usahawan Masyarakat India, SPUMI and also 5 million ringgit for entrepreneurship.

Not only that but the government has allocated 50 million ringgit for repairs, maintenance and small development projects for worship places and these were what presented by our Finance Minister under Budget 2021 in community-based initiative.

Gayaetari Tanaraj,47, an entrepreneurship, said that during this pandemic, business are really down and most of the sales are effected and that leads to difficulty in families. Some companies are leading to bankruptcy and they have to fire some workers because they are unable to pay, despite this situation, the government has taken a good decision that will help many entrepreneur by rolling up their money back and business can go good.

Maureen Sinthiya,38, also an entrepreneurship also said that being a single mother and also business going slow in this pandemic is such a disaster but glad that the government has allocated some funds through organizations such as MITRA that can help Indian society, not only that but some funds also have been allocated to repair our worship place are also much needed right now.

Our smartphones contain various of applications and one of them is search region which has all the information we are looking for.For example,Google search and Siri. They just does not come with search region but they also comes with google maps, health application, photos, music, video and cloud back up.This software and applications helps us in many ways and we at least use each application 5 times a day.But how accurate or correct are the information is?Those days, news in newspaper are written by publications but today almost anyone of us have the ability to write anything for the world to read.It can truth or fake but people are always there to believe it.

Besides that, your maps know better where you are, your house and your working place is located compared to people out there and of course your family members.Don’t you think someone is watching you all the time?We do capture pictures and we store personal information in our phone but where does all this information stored?Does this information goes to the developer?Today,we all do use cloud storage to make sure all our personal files are saved. But this information are also used to find an individual’s interest.Perhaps that is the reason why we are getting advertisement or suggestion and moreover when we use our smart phones. For example, you wanted to shop something online either you buy it or not you keep getting more suggestion on the items you looked for.

Moving on,technology leads to job insecurity.Robots and machines are created to work like human being today. This is because a company might want to cut cost or save a lot by doing this but do you realize that quite a lot of people out there are losing their job.For example, one of my friend is working in a call centre where the company are moving forward digitalize where customers will communicate with computers which is customized to talk like a human being.Even McDonald’s are taking orders through online instead of speaking to the worker. This has already taken up all the work that human being do and leads them losing jobs.

Next,we have also come up with a technology which is known as AI(Artificial Intelligence).Artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. We all name the device on our hand as a smartphone, yes and that is because handphones are being smarter than us these days.AI has the ability to detect whether its an animal, plants, human being or text.Lately,I saw software which is able to detect individuals and categorize them in a folder. For example,my google photos. This is just in our phone but what about each and everyone in the world who owns a smartphone? Are we safe now?Moving on,day by day we are providing information to companies we do not know for an example every time when we download applications there is a notification require us to allow or block to access the images, contacts, microphones and location.

As a conclusion, now technology is a part of our life. There are pro and cons but technology can used in many ways.I strongly suggest that we should not reveal any personal information to the internet. From my point of view, there is a limit on what we share on the internet especially when it comes to personal information.Technology is a good platform but it depends on how we use it.The more we reveal the more we are in danger.

07.07.2017 was the day my dream came true where I had a short vacation of 2 days 1 night at Fraser Hills.Personally,I used to believe that early plannings does not work at all compared to sudden plans.

Well,Fraser Hill was one of my sudden of my sudden plans. It was a dream for me since childhood to visit Fraser Hill.I used to check out the images in books and google images and I promised myself that I will go there one day.Somehow it happened this year and I will take down this vacation as my 2017 goals.

Our vacation started on Friday at 2pm.We left Tanjung Malim by noon and travelled to Fraser Hills by old road.We went through Kelumpang,Kerling,Kuala Kubu Bharu and all the way straight to Fraser Hills. It took almost 1 hour 30 minutes to get at the basement of Fraser Hills from Tanjung Malim and about 45 minutes up the hill.We reached up there by 4.Soon,we straight away went to check in our hotel and took a short nap.

The atmosphere in Fraser Hill was breathtaking and I can’t take off my eyes admiring the mother nature.Without hesitating,we started to snap pictures over and over again.Later,we went to take our late lunch at one of the classic restaurant in Fraser Hills.Obviously, foods was delicious and the prize was quite reasonable.During evening,we had a walk along start surveying some attractive places to visit in Fraser Hills.Later we had a quick bath and we put back ourselves near the clock tower. My cousins and I started talking till we didn’t realize that we was getting late for dinner.

To collect some memories,we refused to travel by the car indeed we choose to walk all the way to the restaurant. All of us had a hoodie on because it was 20 degree celcius and we was shivering quite bad. Before heading the restaurant,we had a hot corn along the way.My cousins and I decided to have some western foods so once we reach there we got ourselves into a western restaurant which look quite expensive.Since our lunch prize was reasonable we assumed this will be the same. But sadly,it was quite expensive take away some extra money. On our back home,we had a free motorbike ride over to our hotel.

The next day,we got up early and start to exploring things in Fraser Hills. We went horse riding,’sumpit’,vegetable farm, lake riding, temples, and lastly we went to the waterfalls.Jeriau Waterfall was one of my favourite spot. The water was super cold but worth the walk.We sat down there for about half and hour because one of my cousins was doing her thesis.Soon after we got back to the hotel and picked up our luggage and checked out from the hotel. We spend another 2 hours getting away from Fraser Hills.I should thank my cousins for making my dream come true.It was definitely one of my memorable vacation of the year.I am looking forward for another vacation and I hope it turns out well.

Media is a new norm in our life that keeps updating every moment that is happening around us. Research says that each person have more than three social media applications installed in their smart phones. Three common applications that every smart phone have is Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook. Others are just add ons such as Telegram, Tik Tok, Snapchat, Wechat and etc.

Compared to 15 years back, we gain news information from the news channel and also newspaper. Digitalization was not well established at that moment. Some sit in the kopitiam shops and watch the television together or chit chat by sharing the latest news, but if you look back at this time, even uncles and aunties are accessed to the latest information of world news in their smart phones.

As time goes by, the media also transforms their accessibility to the latest where everybody can gain and access information. For example, each newspaper organizations has their own websites such as www.thestar.com , www.thesundaily.com. Instead of buying the newspaper, you can gain information of latest news updated seconds to seconds in their websites.

That is a real good move because let’s say if the newspaper industry have slow downed, these organization don’t have to worry because they have their company running through media. Journalist will be able to continue their work and updating time to time. The Nesan, oldest Tamil language newspaper published in Malaysia wouldn’t have shut downed. However, due to some circumstances, they had to.

However, there are many reasons why social media is important. First, as mentioned above it helps you to spread news faster and effectively. Publishing content is a big plus for all Journalist. Basically, you can publish content from anywhere anytime. There are many creative contents that can be published and reach to a larger audience.

Journalists are responsible to share their stories. Since social media has a major portion of younger generation, teenagers and middle-aged people, and research says that they are the major users of social media population. This would be a great platform for journalists to make social media as a highly effective tool for communicating breaking news. Most of the users are teenagers and middle-aged people and our targeted social media is Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Next, spreading your journalism content with the power of twitter. It is said that Twitter is one of the social media giants and Twitter is still the most prolific in the journalism world. It has been ranked as the top social site for breaking news. Twitter is such a great platform for breaking news and following stories because it’s instant and Journalist can build stories in real time while monitoring it.

With social media, Journalist can expand their broadcast journalism online by having conference or meeting via social media applications. Journalist from all around the world can gather and arrange a meeting anywhere anytime. For example, few Unisel students from Critical Issue class attended a workshop co-hosted by the High Commission of Canada and The Embassy of Finland. The workshop was attended by Journalist from Malaysia and also abroad.

Stereotype is any ordinarily known public conviction about a specific social gathering or a sort of person. Stereotypes are frequently mistaken for prejudices, since, similar to prejudices, a stereotypes depends on prior assumption. Stereotypes are frequently made about individuals of specific cultures or races. One of the most common stereotypes is stereotypes surrounding race. This happens since the early times till now. There is never an ending for racial stereotyping. In abroad, the blacks are always targeted in many ways. Many scenes and examples are shown in the movies. For example, job opportunities are not given to the blacks, they are bullied in school, always left over in everything, but things are getting better now. For an example, the vice president of US Kamala Harris who is the first woman and half African-American to hold the post.

In Malaysia, the racial stereotypes come in different ways. Some are sensitive and some comes from the cultural. For an example, Malays are often labeled as coming up late for any event, laziness while Indians are labeled for their rowdyism and harshness and Chinese are labeled for their selfishness. These stereotypes are used in every single issue. For example, Siti might be late for an event for the first time due to car breakdown but eventually she will be labeled as “Not surprised as Malays are always late”. This happens for Indians too, if someone is fighting for their rights when an accident occurs in the roadside, people starts commenting as “Started this Indians, they and their fight”.

Under racial stereotyping, there is a news where our former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad told that “the Chinese are a wealthy lot” and “control all the towns in the country” and that would be examples of such stereotyping. According to the Department of Statistics, 70% of Chinese Malaysians in 2016 belonged to the working class. In fact, even at the time of independence, the majority of Chinese, as the well-known economist (the late) James Puthucheary pointed out, were employees and not employers of capital. If some Chinese from working-class backgrounds have become rich over the years, it is because of opportunities and mobility afforded by the prevailing socio-economic system, apart from their own hard work, perseverance and frugality. This leads us to one more generalize that should be investigated. There are numerous non-Malays who contend that Malays practice absolute imposing business model over political force. This isn't correct in the event that one appreciates the nature and advancement of political force in Malaysia.

The stereotype about Malay laziness, notwithstanding, is maybe the simply one bought in to by certain leaders, as Dr Mahathir, of the focused on individuals themselves. Dr Mahathir has clung on to this generalization for quite a long time despite overpowering proof actually and the wide range of persuasive arguments in Syed Hussein Alatas' The Myth of the Lazy Native (1977). It is surprising when such statement comes from a leader giving negative feed in his own race.

But deep down, as you can see, things are not as before. Indians who are labeled as rowdy are doing well in their education and becoming lawyers and doctors. Malays who are called as laziness are working hard to earn money and running business while Chinese labeled as selfish are helping out everyone. I believe that these kinds of stereotypes are becoming a barrier for the future youngsters to mingle. In this issue, parents and school teachers plays a main role where they need to educate their children in their young age. Feeding them with such stereotypes will somehow cause racism issue in the future.

Sexism is a prejudice or discrimination based on someone’s gender. Basically sexism can affect anyone but it gives more impact on girls or women. I believe the stereotypes on gender role begins since ancient time where women must be a housewife and women should not work. But as you see these days, women are more successful and well-doing in their life.

Things change from their daily routine and their lifestyle. They had the equal freedom as man. However, the security of women are remained the same since before and even worse where small children and babies are being raped. Obviously attires are not being blamed here because a school dress and baby attire does not trigger as it is not revealing.

Not only girls but boys are also sexually harassed and bullied these days for their feminine behavior. As we know, LGBT is becoming a common relationship where LGBT couples are brave in bringing up their relationship and society are accepting it but not everyone. Some countries legalize it but some countries did not. These days sexism is the most crucial thing to be discussed. Even though there are equal freedom yet stereotypes in gender still occurs. It can be in any situation.

For example, drivers are usually meant to be man but watching a woman driving a Scania lorry is normal. You can also see Food Panda riders who are girls, they share the same lifestyle and strength as boy. The most recent example that you can see where a women, Kamala Harris has appointed as the Vise President of United States and she was the first Indian American to serve as a U.S Senator as well as the second African American women.

Sexism works both in positive and negative way. Sadly, there are more tragic and negativity that are portrayed and happening in sexism. Women are always addressed as a pleasure and highly being raped. The rapist could be everywhere, it can be their father, uncle and also their best friends.

For example, recently a flight attendant,Christine Dacera,23, has been raped by her friends while celebrating New Year Eve. She was found unconscious in an empty bath tub of a Makati hotel room in Philippine. The Philippine Airlines attendant was later declared dead after being taken to hospital with “lacerations and sperm in her genitalia”. There were scratches and bruises all over her body. Sadly, the rapist are her best friends, she literally trusted them but ended up being raped. Is that because of her gender? Sexism and stereotypes should be stopped!

In a far off north Indian town, Ashu Malik's name and telephone number are written in red letters on a little shed along a peaceful waterway.

For 25 years, it has been his responsibility to recuperate bodies that have fallen into the waterway.

At the point when somebody in a close by locale disappears, Malik regularly hears a thump at the entryway. Cops, analytical organizations and families have all looked for the 38-year-old's assistance in managing mishaps or suicides.

Fabricated over 60 years prior, the Bhakra Main Line channel, which goes through four states in northern India, is a quiet sight that is frequently corrupted by the smell of dead bodies. The trench's floodgate entryway, where the water branches in two ways, is situated in Khanauri, which is where the bodies frequently go up.

Malik grew up alongside the canal in the state of Haryana. He was 12 when he found he discovered his skill for diving.

"A lady was washing her garments at the canal when she lost her balance," the bearded Malik recalled. "She cried for help and I jumped in as others watched on. I saved her life and a local newspaper carried the news with my photograph.”

Malik was excited when the cop in control compensated him for his dauntlessness with 50 rupees, under $1 in the present cash.

"That was five months' lease in 1991-92," he said happily. "My dad was a helpless man. He could barely handle it. He thought I had taken something."

Half a month later, the official gathered Malik again and offered him 80 rupees to fish out a body. The little youngster was terrified; the body was enlarged and disintegrated.

"In any case, I made a plunge, tied a rope around its leg and finished the work," he said.
