ASSIGNMENT 2 : VIDEO (1)
"Help Us” – pleads the National Blood Centre (PDN) to Malaysians as the reserves of blood types A and B are running dangerously low.
PDN revealed that the shortage is due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the frequency of periodic blood donations that has been vital in keeping the blood supply adequate for use in the healthcare system.
Blood is often needed in surgical cases, accident victims, treating leukemia patients, cancer, thalassemia, heart disease, complications of bleeding during childbirth and other conditions.
However, the national blood supply has been running into critical deficiency issues with the Covid-19 pandemic placing pressure on Malaysia’s healthcare systems as blood donation drives and centres ground to a halt during the Movement Control Order (MCO) over fears of the coronavirus.
