King, queen, prince visit flood victims in Maran, Pahang
MARAN – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, today visited flood victims at the relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Maran 1, Pahang, here.
Accompanying the king were Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and Tengku Panglima Muda Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu’adzam Shah.
Present to greet them at about noon were the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdi Wan Ismail.
The king, in his speech, advised flood evacuees at the centre to always comply with the stipulated standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“Although we are in a difficult situation (because of the floods), it is a test, and my concern is if the SOPs are not observed, there will be problems for all of us (if the virus spreads).
“In this flood situation, especially at the relief centres, everyone must comply with the SOPs. I pray the situation here continues to improve,” said the king after being briefed on the flood situation by the Maran District Disaster Management Committee.

The king also told staffers of agencies managing the flood situation to play their respective roles in monitoring the health of victims at the centre.
Apart from that, the Agong also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the front-line personnel who have been hard at work battling the natural disaster.
The royal couple spent some time with the evacuees and handed over contributions.
